The role will be responsible for the production, consolidation and reporting of Market Risk RWA balances for HSBC Group, HBEU and other entities. This includes the preparation of inputs to global COREP and Pillar 3 reports, liaising with Traded Risk and Front Office representatives to understand model changes and business drivers underlying internal models and assisting and advising sites on the correct application of Standard Rules under regulatory requirements. The role will also work closely with Risk to provide ad-hoc analysis and guidance, including but not limited to Stress Testing, QIS submissions and regulatory reporting returns.
The role requires a high degree of interaction with the GFC team in Hyderabad, helping them with producing market risk numbers, implementation of controls within EUCs and leading the improvements in the overall process.
Leading the remediation project of market risk S166 review findings and closure of all review observations in a timely and efficient manner.
Critical to the role's success will be the interaction with Traded Risk; the holder will need to challenge the outputs appropriately and ensure an effective control environment whilst building a strong relationship between Risk and Finance.
The holder of this role will be required to have a strong understanding of both regulatory rules and investment banking products in order to provide input and guidance to ensure accurate and timely reporting and analytical review.

The Market Risk of the trading book is currently calculated based on both internal models and standard rules across a number of sites. Internal Model MR capital requirements is calculated by Traded Risk and Standard Rules MR RWA is calculated by Regulatory Reporting in Finance. Due to the increasing requirements for granular data within regulatory reporting and processes such as stress testing, analytical review and issue resolution is becoming increasingly important.
