The Legal Department of RiverBank is responsible for providing general legal services and advice to the bank, its management and its individual departments, as well as for managing the legal risks relating to the bank's operations. The Legal Department plays a substantial role in safeguarding the bank's loan portfolio from the origination phase all throughout the lifetime of each asset, which sometimes includes work-out and restructuring situations.
Supporting the on-boarding of new loan-structures, drafting and negotiating contractual arrangements and reviewing offering documents
Acting as a gatekeeper and closely interacting with different departments to help manage legal risks in relation to the bank's loan-portfolio on a day-to-day basis
Advising on all legal and regulatory matters relating to the bank's SME lending-activity with a focus on the French, German and/or Dutch markets
Providing support on designated projects in relation to more general legal matters in dynamic inter-departmental settings
University degree in Law or Business Law (or comparable)
Min. 5-7 years of relevant experience with finance transactions is a requirement (real-estate is an asset), preferably within the Legal, Credit or Restructuring Department of an established bank, or the Banking & Finance or Litigation department of an established law-firm
Fluent in English and at least one of the following languages: French, German and Dutch (several is an asset)
Good knowledge of contract, property and insolvency laws
Strong writing skills and drafting capabilities
Very good analytical skills and attention to detail
Intercultural-sensitivity and a resilient personality
Willingness to employ a practical mind-set and take responsibility if required
