Our Corporate Bank Technology team is a global team of 3000 Engineers (and growing!) across 30 countries. The primary businesses that we support within Corporate Bank are Cash Management, Securities Services, Trade Finance and Trust & Agency Services. CB Technology support these businesses through CIO aligned teams and also by 'horizontals' such as Client Connectivity, Surveillance and Regulatory, Infrastructure, Architecture, Production, and Risk & Control.
We are looking for a senior director to develop and lead our API strategy across our Corporate Banking business. This commercially minded senior executive will be a hands-on technologist sitting in the Client Connectivity Technology domain. They are business savvy and have a proven track record of successfully navigating large matrix organizations in order implement a desired outcome. Experience with commercial banking products is a plus, however not required. The emphasis here is around the expertise in API technologies.

Your key responsibilities:
Develop and govern a set of common tools / best practices that can be shared across the technology organization for developing strategic API's
Act as the sounding board for engineering teams across the Corporate Bank to provide feedback and guidance on API solutions under development as well as ones that are in production
Partner with the business to identify opportunities to expose functionality as API's in order to monetize customer integration and enable new markets.
Work with senior management to ensure API's are properly prioritized and emphasized.
Engage with customers to help sell our API product offering and discover new business opportunities enabled by API's.
Develop partnerships with 3rd party software vendors that leverage our API capabilities.
Work closely with Corporate Bank domain architects to ensure appropriate technical architectural consideration is given to API's in all new strategic development.
Identify and resolve issues and challenges impeding API delivery or threatening operational stability of existing API's.
Develop a front-to-back support model that ensures a strong customer experience when using API's provided across all of the CB domains.
Ensure API solutions incorporate best-practice modern design patterns and technologies
Provide hands on engineering API expertise to the development teams, delivering / committing code on complex modules.
Your skills and experience:
Advanced verbal and written communication skills to present ideas and concepts effectively
Expertise implementing requirements of the API layer like security, custom analytics, throttling, caching, logging, request and response modifications etc. using API management platform
Experience with converting web services from SOAP to RESTful or vice-versa, using API management platform
Minimum 15 years hands on development experience in all phases of software development life cycle.
Experience working directly with both external customers and key strategic partners.
Hands-on design and implementation experience with micro service architecture
