Roles and Responsibilities The Finance Business Analyst plays a key role in the Group Management Reporting, Planning & Analysis - Information Delivery Team ("MRPA - Information Delivery"), which is responsible for the data quality and integrity of the Financial Data Mart (FDM) that is used for business performance measurement. The team also strives to meet the reporting needs of Finance and Business stakeholders by reporting on insightful financial KPIs and metrics using end users dashboards and tools like Qlikview.
Support the day to day operations of Group Finance's Financial Data Mart (FDM)
Perform quality assurance checks, reconciliation to the general ledger, manual adjustments to instrument level data which are sourced from the Bank's Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) to ensure good quality data are delivered to business units for their profitability reporting and analysis
Track and Monitor outstanding issues raised to IT are resolved promptly
Assess impact and lead/participate in UAT for new products/systems from the source systems & EDW into the FDM data mart
Coordinate team's End User Developed Application monitoring
Coordinate team's Risk Assessment monitoring
Reports To: Head, MRPA - Information Delivery
A good university degree, preferably in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent with 4 years of related work experience
Experience with MIS Performance Management application
Good understanding of banking product knowledge (for P&L, Balance Sheet analysis)
Exposure to analytical software tools of leading analytical software tools, leading database environments (Oracle, DB2, Teradata, SQL); reporting tools (Qlikview, Hyperion) is preferred
Exposure to financial services database, analytical financial or profitability management functions
Ability to analyse, identify, visualize and describe key trends within large datasets
Ability to work with systems and data
Ability to pay keen attention to details especially with numbers
