The Role Responsibilities
The Global Tax Programme is a large-scale multi-year change initiative to transform the Group's Tax processes as part of the Aspire programme. In addition to the Tax Programme's transformational change agenda, the programme includes governance and accountability for on-going delivery of regulatory change impacting on the Group's Finance / Tax Processes. The strategic objectives of the programme will be met through driving governance, process, and technology data changes to optimise and transform the existing Group Tax Reporting framework . The Transformation of the Group Tax Reporting Framework will meet these strategic objectives through fully leveraging and aligning the Group Finance Framework benefits of the Aspire architecture to effectively deliver on Financial Performance Targets for ROTE (Return of Tangible Equity) and ETR (Effective Tax Rate).
The Tax Programme and Delivery Lead is a senior leadership role within the Finance Change organisation and will be expected to co-ordinate and drive the critical regulatory and strategic change agenda for Group Tax. This will require engagement with numerous senior Tax and Finance stakeholders, primarily the Tax Leadership Team (TLT).
Their primary engagement will be with the Global Process Owner, Group Tax as the Accountable Executive along with other Group Tax and Group Finance accountable executives and where relevant regional and segmental CFOs. The role may also be required to engage with other Global Process Owners, Heads of Tax and Treasury and in some cases Deputy CFO. The role will be expected to build strong relationships with senior delivery partners including Technology, GFS and Third-Party Vendors.
This role requires extensive senior change management experience designing and leading large-scale global initiatives within Financial Services, managing multiple senior executive stakeholders and global delivery teams.
Define the multi-year change roadmap for the Global Tax Programme, aligning with other strategic deliverables and activity prioritisation
Ensure strong engagement with senior strategic leaders across Tax and Finance, with a particular focus on TLT and the Tax and Finance community
Build effective communication channels with wider senior tax and finance leadership ensuring change roadmap along with associated benefits are widely acknowledged and anticipated.
Build strong relationships with key delivery partners, and ensure efficiencies and synergies are realised across programmes.
Partner with stakeholders across the organisation, including Lines of Business, local country Finance, Supply Chain, Tax, Regulatory, Risk, and Data to define and implement the required Tax process changes
Partner with Product, Segment, Country and Group leads to define and implement the required control processes
Ensure effective governance and project management standards are applied across all delivery responsibilities
Establish standard framework and methodologies for programme delivery, including strategic definition, programme initiation, planning and execution.
Support the design and implementation of the strategic solution architecture required to deliver the Tax requirements
Define and develop Tax Reporting capability as required to supplement existing solution
Support the GPO in the definition and change execution of target state processes
Define and communicate comprehensive Tax data requirements to data and design teams across the organisation to ensure information / data required to meet reporting requirements is available and accessible
Standardise report delivery processes for Tax regulatory reporting across the organisation
Help define group wide Tax process principles and strategic vision along with the wider integration plan with Technology

Day to day operational management of project plans and milestones
Managing senior governance forums and decision-making bodies
Execution of project plan and governance in alignment with group policy and system delivery framework
Managing a diverse change team across multiple jurisdictions and time zones to deliver to the agreed milestones and budget
Project documentation and reporting
Managing relationships with senior finance stakeholders across the different functions of the organisation including Tax Leadership Team, Regional / Segmental CFO's, Global Process Owners and Change Partners
Ensuring adequate governance and controls are inherent throughout delivery and transitioned into target operating model
Alignment of the functional capability with core finance processes and practices
Deploy a co-ordinated communication strategy throughout the requirement, design and deployment stages of the programme to ensure end user acceptance

Our Ideal Candidate
Minimum 10+ years of experience driving Change and Transformation within the Financial Services Industry
Extensive experience building and leading effective change delivery teams across a global organisation
Relevant experience in leading Tax specific change projects, particularly in Client Tax and Transactional Taxes
Expert knowledge in complex financial products, operational process improvement, technology and systems architecture, and cost and profitability/ performance management is required
Proven experience in people, risk and change management
Proven experience working across multiple geographies in rapidly changing environment
Strong team working and integration skills; experience of managing in a virtual team environment
Demonstrated capability of persuading and influencing stakeholders at multiple levels; negotiating skills to deliver win-win
Extensive track record of change delivery in similar environment
