You're a few years deep into your career as a Java Developer so surely you've thought about what type of career you want to carve out for yourself?
Maybe you've decided you want to go the tech evangelist route? Broadening your tech stack as much as physically possible to ensure you're constantly ready for whatever challenge comes your way. Loads of companies love someone that are strong technically so you can chisel out a nice career using nothing but a coder's mindset.
Or, maybe you've decided you want to stay sound technically while sharpening the softer skills that could see you knock on the door of CTO later in your career? You know- developing leadership skills, shaping young minds and having a say in the technical direction of the company.
Either way, it's time you decided what type of Java Developer you want to be- luckily this is a role that will help you explore all options.
You can advance your experience in all things Java (spring, springboot etc) while picking up other technologies like Docker and working with AWS.
You can learn other development/scripting languages like Python.
They'll help you go full stack if you'd like- working with React, Angular etc.
You can tune develop cross-platform expertise, building apps/software across Desktop, Web and even mobile (where you'll use Ionic/Cordova).

Why make a move?
You have loads of options and I'm sure you're employer doesn't want to lose a Java Developer any time soon, but at times like these you need to really put yourself first. You can do this by pursuing a company that:
Rewards employees with yearly pay reviews (it's also not alien to see a pay review after your first six months).
Is financially independent- it's a company born in Belfast 8 years ago not dependent on foreign investors that can panic and pull funding.
Looks after employee wellbeing with various "wellness" initiatives being utilised.
Typically offers a 10% pay rise to new employees depending on experience, alongside healthcare etc
The office is located just off Great Victoria Street- there are WFH options available too (currently the role is fully remote).
If you're a Java Developer with around 3 years experience, you could be earning £35,000-£45,000.
You can achieve this after a two step process involving two video interviews- the second of which will include a virtual whiteboard session.
