Job Description: Legal Documentation & Negotiator - ISDA / OTC Location: London 6 months + contract Day Rate: Negotiable
An investment bank in London Canary Wharf are seeking a strong Legal Negotiator to join their ISDA team within the Physical Commodity & OTC Derivatives Business.
Department Profile: Develop technology strategy and in-house technology solutions to drive and enable the Institutional businesses including electronic, low latency, Fixed Income, Equities and Commodities Sales and Trading plus Investment Banking, Research and Global Capital Markets software
Primary Responsibilities: Preparing and negotiating a range of Institutional Securities Documentation for the Physical Commodity & OTC Derivatives Business. Focus on Master Trading Documentation for a variety of derivative products included, but not limited to, ISDA, Credit Support Annex, GMRA, CDEA, Side Letters, amendments and ancillary documentation across diversity of clients and multi-asset class with a particular preference for experience in physical commodity documentation such as EFET. Working closely with internal stakeholders to negotiate legal terms and respond to internal and external questions. Reviewing and analyzing constitutional documents to determine Capacity and Authority to engage in covered derivatives products. Review underlying jurisdictional opinions as necessary. Updating internal spreadsheets and systems with document or status data
Person Specification: Education Level: Degree in law / business administration degree Essential Skills: Proven Commodity and ISDA Legal negotiation skills are essential. Excellent written and oral communication skills, Excellent people skills (will interface with people at varied skill and seniority levels), General comfort with Technology (particularly Microsoft Word, any spreadsheets); Quick learner - including learning internal computer systems, Ability to set, track, achieve and report on short/long term goals and projects 4Essential Characteristics: Organized, Detail-oriented, Self-starter (highly proactive), Confident, Comfortable interacting with junior and senior colleagues, Ambitious, Commercial, Willing to assist / teach other members of the team. Previous Experience: Experience in legal/business support roles. Preferably employed by or seconded to a bank in a documentation / business support roles. Languages: Not essential, however, French, Spanish, Italian or German would be useful
