The Sales and Account Management team at IHS Markit are responsible for building significant and long term client relationships while also presenting market leading solutions to help our Financial Services customers achieve a competitive advantage in the markets and customers they serve. IHS Markit Group is looking for a consistently successful Account Manager. The ideal candidate will have sales and account management responsibility for top financial institutions. He/She will be responsible for developing and maintaining close alliances with senior client management personnel, offering recommendations through formal sales presentations and written proposals, and working with the cross functional team to negotiate and close product and solution based engagements. Will be held accountable to grow and maintain a large revenue stream.
Duties & accountabilities:
Define and execute territory / account sales plans for the given territory and then meet and exceed sales goals (targets) through prospecting, qualifying, managing and closing sales opportunities within the assigned Named Accounts.
Develop and manage sales pipeline, prospect and assess sales and move a large number of transactions simultaneously through the sales pipeline.
Manage and track customer and transactional information in Salesforce®.
Provide your management with accurate forecast of the activity of your team.
Coordinate resources throughout the sales cycle, including sales specialists, product support and sales engineering.
Provide initial product demonstrations and general support to prospective customers.
Nurture and expand the company's relationship with customer accounts of all sizes.
Provide regular reporting of pipeline and forecast through Salesforce®.
Keep abreast of competition, competitive issues and products.
Practice effective, excellent communication with management, customers and support staff.
Participate in team-building and company-growth activities including strategy setting, sales training, marketing efforts and customer care.
Travel to customer locations in support of sales efforts.
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree required, MBA strongly preferred, 10+ years working in Sales and Account Management, with a proven track record of success.
Extensive experience working in Financial Services/Technology sector and preferably with Buy-side Customers in Canada. Ideal candidates will have vendor experience.
Must be able to provide leadership when called upon
Successful sales experience with a proven track record of over achievement selling complex solutions and non-tangible business value in competitive environment
Ability to effectively position complex ideas and concepts through verbal and written communication.
Must be able to work well in a team environment with cross functional capabilities
