This is an opportunity to join GIC as a VP/SVP, Lead/Principal Data Scientist. You will be part of a dynamic team that provides Data Science capabilities across investment management and corporate services functions.
You will play a key role in formulating, scoping, implementing, and evaluating data science solutions
You will have the opportunity to mentor junior data scientists and oversee multiple projects

Master's or PhD in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent
At least 5-6 years of relevant experience as a data scientist
A strong grounding in NLP, as well as a good grasp of Statistical methods and Machine Learning techniques
Able to be hands-on in data science projects, and also provide technical guidance and coaching to the data scientist team
Experience in dealing with large scale, noisy, and unstructured data
Experience/exposure to Financial Services industry will be a plus
Strong collaboration skills, ability to partner and work effectively across teams and with business stakeholders
Programming experience in Python and Hadoop/Spark, and SQL working proficiency
Good communication skills, ability to articulate technical concepts and drive discussions
