To define, plan and execute the EIB Group's Data Management and Governance for the Bank's Lending Directorate (OPS) by contributing to the definition and implementation of related processes and procedures in order to ensure that the Bank can rely on correct, reliable and accessible data sources or reports for its different business areas.
As (Senior) Data Governance Officer (internally referred to as (Senior) Officer Coordination), you will report to the Head of Unit and cooperate closely with the Bank's Data Governance Office (DGO) team in the Corporate Services (CS) Directorate,. You will interface regularly with the OSD management and with the management and data experts of the transactional departments. Within OSD, you will collaborate closely with the IT and data administration experts as well as business analysts of OSD-2, and with other areas of OSD as may be required. You will represent the Directorate in bank-wide projects and working groups on data and information governance.
Prepare and review data governance deliverables for data-related projects, investigate and follow-up on data quality issues impacting OPS and provide adequate support to OPS operational needs in the Data Governance area
Contribute to the development and implementation of the Bank-wide data governance action plan and strategy while representing OPS' specific business needs;
Contribute actively on specific improvement projects which focus on bank-wide transversal information/data domains
Lead the development and implementation of data policies in OPS, incl. standards, principles, projects, processes and solutions
Execute typical tasks to implement data governance and data management, notably :
Business Glossary :
define and maintain OPS business terms, data fields and related metadata following the Bank's guidelines
Establish a network of subject matter experts to ensure quality definitions.
define, apply and monitor quality criteria, metrics and controls
identify and analyse data quality issues and root causes, propose and implement sustainable improvements, clean and correct data; implement data quality processes
Define the approach for the definition and improvement of how data are organised (structures, models etc.) and how data in the Operations directorate fit into the wider data landscape
maintain OPS operational data model
Assess data impacts of changes, ensure that related data-centric deliverables are reflected in business cases and project charters and mitigate related risks.
raise awareness of the value of corporate data as an asset and promote governance, definition, quality and organisation of data within OPS
Reinforce and maintain a network: share knowledge with peers and provide guidance to colleagues in the execution of data related activities.
Represent the Director of OSD in different working groups, steering committees etc and vis-à-vis the Director General of OPS
University degree in the field of Finance, Mathematics, IT or Information Management preferred, with a strong data analysis and data management focus
At least 5 years of relevant professional experience covering data governance activities, business data analysis, data management and documentation, ideally gained in a Financial Institution or in a financial services consultancy
Knowledge of best practice framework in data/information management (e.g. DMBOK), data and process modelling (BPMN) or data/information quality (TIQM) would be a strong advantage
Good knowledge of operational/lending project cycles
Preferably experience with IT project management principles, methods and practices
Sound knowledge of Business Object Web Intelligence and Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge of Sybase Power Designer would be an advantage
Very good knowledge of English and/or French(*) and good command of the other
Team player with good interpersonal skills and positive attitude for frequent interaction with other colleagues;
Ability to communicate with clarity and concision; good drafting skills in English;
Strong analytical skills and accuracy: ability to quickly understand and analyse requests, propose solutions, synthetize and express them in a clear manner;
