Our client is a global investment manager with their regional headquarters based in Hong Kong, managing several billion dollars of listed and private real estate. The Company is looking to hire an experienced Research Analyst capable of supporting the investment management activities of the Real Estate team across the region. The highly experienced team requires top-down macroeconomic analytical support to ensure that the many demands of the business' perpetual investment programme are met in a timely and accurate manner. The Senior Research Analyst will work closely with the local portfolio and data analytics team and report to the Head of Real Estate, Asia Pacific.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Participating in, and contributing to, the real estate investment strategy for the Asia Pacific portfolio
Assisting with portfolio construction across public and private real estate markets
Providing well researched and thoughtful opinions on real estate market trends, both historic and forward looking
Generating forecasting models capable of producing forward looking return expectations for key regional real estate markets
Looking for innovative means of analysing markets, particularly for new or developing markets and sectors
Within the context of the global real estate portfolio, leading the efforts in formulating a House View for Asia Pacific
Remaining current on all global, regional, and local level political and economic issues, especially as they relate to real estate
Producing periodic "white papers" and ad-hoc contributions to client reporting and investment proposals
Working closely with the local and global portfolio and data analytics team to develop portfolio management tools; and
Performing other tasks as directed by the Head of Real Estate, Asia-Pacific from time to time.
University degree in Economics
Approximately 7-10 years' relevant working experience, preferably in a buy side research or strategy role in real estate (listed or private) with regional knowledge and experience
First class numerical/analytical/data skills
Proven forecasting skills
Strong team player and communicator with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
Adaptable and able to apply him/herself to a broad range of demands
Willing to contribute in group discussions
Excellent English communication skills
Culturally sensitive and capable of working in a diverse team of individuals from different backgrounds.
