Job Description About the Quantitative Solutions Team: The quantitative solutions team has three primary areas of responsibility: 1) risk management for all MFS portfolios; 2) portfolio management for multi-asset class portfolios, including the Asset Allocation, Lifetime Target Date and Global Tactical Allocation products; and 3) portfolio management for portfolios that employ quantitative security selection models, including Blended Research, Systematic Research, and PPS products.
Primary areas of responsibility will reside in Multi Asset and Fixed Income areas. Work with portfolio managers and research analysts on guided research projects with a focus on bond, currency and commodity modeling.
Develop and execute processes to systematically gather data for analysts and portfolio managers to assist in research and portfolio management. Work closely with research analysts and portfolio managers to understand research and business needs.
Assist in development and/or implementation of new analytic tools and systems. Provide testing, documentation and quality assurance support. Design reports for analysts and portfolio managers to assist in risk analysis and portfolio management. Use knowledge of investment principles to determine report requirements, appropriate data sources, calculations and formats.
Effectively communicate results of processes and research as appropriate.
Assume additional responsibilities as required.
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g. Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering etc.) or equivalent experience.
Three to five years of relevant experience recommended.
Strong problem solving and communications skills; attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or Perl preferred. Familiarity with financial data software such as Bloomberg or FactSet is a plus.
Demonstrated aptitude for quantitative analysis.
