Job Description The Senior Compensation Consultant will deliver a variety of business-focused compensation expertise to help MFS meet its short and long term business goals. Working closely with HR Business Partners and assigned client groups will develop compensation strategies and practices consistent with MFS' Compensation Philosophy. Monitors and ensures compliance with compensation related regulatory requirements across multi-country jurisdictions.
Compensation Program Design
Works with Compensation team and other HR groups and business units to develop and implement new, "value-added" compensation programs.
Develops/ implements compensation programs for departments, divisions, and/ or corporate wide use. Provides advice and training as required.
Monitors total rewards/ remuneration regulatory developments in jurisdictions where MFS has a presence. Evaluate new remuneration regulations against MFS existing compensation programs and policies and assess impact and provide recommendations related to changes to policies and/ or processes to ensure adherence with requirements. Collaborates with Legal and Compliance and Compensation team as necessary to remain abreast of evolving regulations.
Conducts annual analyses to support compliance with regulations such as identity key employees under IRS 409A, identify code staff in compliance with FCA regulations (CRD III/ IV) and prepares associated reporting internally and (as appropriate) externally.
Works closely with MFS clients and HR Business Partners to provide high level of service, advice and consultation on all Compensation matters.
Advises and educates manages with regard to compensation fundamentals, such as salary recommendation, job description development, job evaluation, internal and external equity and salary and incentive compensation planning. Ensures internal equity across client base and MFS.
Handles a variety of administrative activities related to MFS' Compensation Programs, including developing and conducting compensation training, the administration of year-end merit, equity, promotion and IC allocations. Provides guidance to managers and employees regarding interpretation of company compensation policies and procedures.
Compensation Analyses and Administration
Works with compensation team to analyze results, perform trend analysis, develop recommendations and produce senior management reports. May present findings and recommendations to senior leaders.
Develops communication materials to educate client groups on key compensation programs, policies and practices. Educates manages to ensure compensation decision are based on most current market data.
Works closely with HR functional areas.
Manages various mid to large size compensation projects. Develops project plans and provides direction for phases of implementation process. Ensures key project milestones are met. Coordinates related projects with other areas of HR as needed.
Represents Compensation and works with HRIS to ensure that Compensation related information in Workday is structured in a efficient manner.
Provides guidance and direction to other members of the compensation team
Remains current on new and emerging trends within compensation field by attending industry events.
Bachelor's degree in a related area
Minimum of seven to nine years related compensation experience, with in-depth knowledge of base salary, incentive compensation, sales and executive compensation.
Ability to develop strong, credible relationships with client groups; previous experience working in a consultative environment a plus
Ability to synthesize analyses and develop effective presentation of results and recommendations
Strong analytical, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
Knowledge of employment laws and regulations related to Compensation and the Financial Services Industry across multiple geographies (eg ADA, FLSA, CRD III/IV, UCITS V, AIFMD, Mifid)
In depth knowledge of jobevaluation systems and external market pricing / benchmarking practices
Knowledge and experience with spreadsheet and database systems (Excel, Workday etc)
