The Sec & Derivatives Sr. Mgr. is a senior management level position responsible for accomplishing results through the management of a team or department in an effort to process orders and transactions originating from trading desks and branch offices in coordination with the Operations - Transaction Services team. The overall objective of this role is to ensure the seamless delivery of securities and derivatives transactions.
Develop and implement business initiatives, client solutions, or projects affiliated with securities and derivatives settlement
Solve complex inquiries, conduct discovery and complete due diligence activities for client requests
Provide detailed analysis of escalated issues when necessary and recommend actions for resolution
Contribute to processing standards and expectations for securities and derivatives processing teams
Develop and implement business plans, policies, and procedures that offer solutions and cost saving opportunities
Manage daily performance related to securities and derivatives post-settlement activities of operations processes
Propose solutions to implement settlement process improvements, client service enhancements, or overall technology enhancements
Coordinate with internal and external clients to assess service quality and identify areas for improvement
Act as an advisor to new/junior staff
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
6-10 years of relevant experience
Required licensing/registration: Series 9
People management experience
Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
Bachelor's Degree/University degree or equivalent experience
Master's degree preferred

Manage medium to large operation (Current size 10 FTE ) of Capital Markets operations work with key stakeholders and partners to ensure successful implementation and sound control environment. The Team Manager is responsible to support the business on any new products and processes as well as ensuring all regulatory reporting requirements are met
Business Management & Planning: Implement and delivery of business plans and targets. Plan, allocate and organize team resources to meet the business plan.
Process/Continuous Improvement: To initiate and support process improvement activity and help to embed a culture of continuous improvement. To facilitate change through projects.
Product Knowledge/Understanding: Sound understanding of FX, Money Market, Fixed Income and FX Options, Premium Deposit products and systems flows. Strong working knowledge of accounting treatment for the products supported and ability to work with Finance, Technology and Business partners
Risk Management: Identify and manage the risk, minimizing the outcome and escalating where appropriate. Stakeholder Management: Develop and maintain effective working relationships. Partner with other department and / or divisions with common goals. Supports the successful accomplishment of internal MCA as they apply to the department.
Managing Change: Proactively identify opportunities for change which will add value to the achievement of business objectives and enhance the customer experience. Be flexible to react and/or implement change initiatives.
Team Leadership: Develop, plan, and implement activities that will enable a highly motivated and highly performing team to deliver team objectives. Fostering an environment of cooperation and change.
Recruitment & Induction: Identify hiring needs and make hiring decisions. Oversee the new hire orientation process for new team members.
Team Development: Create, plan and implement activities that will support the development of team members. Workforce planning and review, as well as monthly productivity analysis. Work on an effective Resource Location strategy and manage teams remotely.
Performance Management: Ensure team meets agreed service levels, Coach and develop staff, Review and follow-up with each individuals performance to ensure they meet their specific objectives and that they have the right knowledge, skills and behaviors. Ensures that direct reports have clear objectives and targets linked to business objectives and appropriate behaviors ("what" is expected and "how" they are expected to achieve objectives).
Support functions responsibitly: Risk and Control, Training, Metrics, Quality assurance and User Acceptance Testing.
Successfully juggle multiple projects and projects UAT concurrently to meet deadlines
Partner and work collaboratively, influence others and interact at all levels of the organization, as well as follow up with senior clients within the business
Strengthen control environment ensuring that the global standard policies, procedures and tools are being used in the team. Supports the successful accomplishment of internal MCA as they apply to the department.
Develop operational initiatives, benchmarks and metrics for standards of performance
Support key regulatory and internal audit reviews
Direct operations to achieve budgeted results and other financial and operational criteria
Participate in the development and preparation of short-term and long-range plans and budgets based upon broad organization goals and objectives
