A leading UK based Banking business are looking for an experienced Tax Manager for a period of 12 months.
The UK tax function is the primary source of tax advice for the Bank in the UK. The function also has tax compliance responsibilities across business lines and entities.
The UK tax function has responsibility for advising all UK business lines on all corporate tax related matters including corporation tax, VAT, WHT and stamp duty, transfer pricing, payroll taxes, banking taxes, operational taxes (CRS), international tax.
Some of your duties will include the below
Undertaking UK tax compliance work in an efficient and timely manner across corporation tax, employment tax and stamp taxes in line with statutory requirements and Group risk management governance, policy and procedures
Taking responsibility for monthly financial reporting of UK group entities' tax figures
Preparation of tax disclosures within UK financial statements and liaison with external auditors and colleagues in head office
Management of companies' tax positions in an optimal way, making tax elections as appropriate
Participation in advising and assisting the businesses and supporting functions in all tax related matters as agreed with the UK Head of Tax
Build relationships with UK businesses and strengthen business knowledge (banking and commercial finance)
Ensure that the UK's tax processes and procedures reflect changes to legislation, internal policy
Keep up to date on UK tax technical changes and developmentsYou will be expected to be either a qualified accountant or CTA qualified. You will need to be someone who has worked extensively in tax within the Financial Services sector.
