What You'll Be Doing The Senior IIROC Compliance Officer is part of the Compliance and Enterprise Anti-Money Laundering (EAML) Examination Programs Team. This group is responsible for the independent Compliance and EAML examinations for the Commercial Banking & Wealth Management and Personal & Small Business Banking activities as well as bank-wide Compliance coverage for Enterprise-Wide Compliance and EAML.
The Senior IIROC Compliance Officer, as a member of the Programs and Process Team supports the Regulatory Compliance Examination Team responsible to conduct IIROC examinations for IIROC regulated investment businesses in Canada such as CIBC Wood Gundy, CIBC Investor Services Inc, CIBC Private Investment Counsel, CIBC Private Banking, and other related businesses.
How You'll Succeed
Build Examination Programs - Apply examination methodologies and strategies to develop examination programs. Utilize well developed writing and effective communication skills in conveying concepts and resolutions to compliance issues. Demonstrate the ability to build risk-based assessments, sample approaches, test methodologies and examination documentation standards.
IIROC regulatory supervision knowledge - Utilize your subject matter expertise of the IIROC regulations to build the Compliance program for daily/weekly/ monthly trade supervision for suitability, UMIR trade oversight, close and strict supervision and outgoing correspondence.
EffectiveOrganization - Be able to pay strong attention to details, work under pressure with tight timelines and multi-task. This may involve overseeing multiple examinations concurrently.
Who You Are
You can demonstrate experience in IIROC regulatory supervision. You have conducted examinations in a financial institution, and preferably for investments products. Previous experience from internal audits, compliance, business governance or full service brokerage will be considered for this role. It's an asset if you have successfully completed the Canadian Securities Course, Conduct and Practices Handbook, Options Supervisors Course, Branch Managers Course, Partners, Directors and Officers Course.
