Job Description - Vice President, Corporate Credit Structuring, Global Subsidiaries
Working closely with Mizuho Securities USA Inc., Mizuho Bank (USA) and other product and risk management partners around the globe, Banking Americas ("BA") utilizes its expertise to deliver creative ideas and tailor-made solutions to clients.
Vice Presidents in Corporate Credit Structuring ("CCS") Global Subsidiaries Team work with coverage bankers to originate, structure, underwrite and negotiate facilities (including cross-border trade management solutions, syndicated and bilateral loans, bridge and acquisition financing) for existing and prospective multi-national clients. A Vice President is expected to manage and monitor a credit portfolio, preparing credit applications, executing transactions and framing client opportunities with a balanced focus on credit fundamentals and risk/ return parameters.
Manage and monitor a credit portfolio of 20-30 accounts, performing credit and risk/return analysis and assessment of existing and prospective clients and counterparties comprised of global subsidiaries largely in the Consumer and Industrials space.
Analyze and review transaction proposals focusing on structure, terms and conditions and profitability.
Create detailed and thorough credit applications to support approvals of credit facilities and credit ratings.
Liaise with Mizuho coverage, credit, product partners, legal, agent, and middle office locally and globally to ensure seamless and efficient deal execution from start to finish
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work closely with Coverage Bankers and Product Partners to identify client opportunities and gather required information to complete business screening process
Respond to various client requests and represent Mizuho at client and bank meetings
Assist in the development and continued cultivation of client relationships, helping to identify opportunities through client industry and banking knowledge.
Prepare credit applications including in-depth, forward-looking credit analysis with projection models, rating analysis/submission, assessment of industry drivers/trends, deal structures, key risks & mitigants as well as any other requested or required forms or information needed to complete a proper assessment of the customer/transaction
Financial modeling, valuation, comparable & relative value analyses
Coordinate with Credit on risk screening to determine credit risk appetite / rating to support business case and assist with any required due diligence needed to finalize credit opinions/approvals
Evaluate risk/return parameters of and relationship strategy supporting financing transactions
As part of first line of defense, act as credit steward monitoring client performance trends / market movements in coordination with risk and make recommendations for action plans as it relates to client credit issues/restructuring/exposure management
Actively monitor portfolio via annual reviews and covenant compliance monitoring
Manage deal execution from inception to close: transaction structuring, documentation negotiations, due diligence and execution. Review legal documents in conjunction with in-house or outside counsel.
Ensure all related internal policies and procedures are followed and manage compliance requirements
Engage with portfolio team to optimize portfolio via risk/exposure mitigation (loan sales, CDS, credit insurance)
Assist with regulatory and audit-related requests/meetings/presentations, as needed
Coordinate and assist onboarding requests, booking requests, and other administrative functions with Bank Operations
Assist senior staff with other administrative/portfolio management duties
Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or Economics or strong quantitative background
Formalized Credit Training from an accredited financial institution (minimum 7-10 years credit experience) and proficient modeling skills
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, work under pressure and adhere to tight deadlines
Possess strong written and oral communication skills and ability to convey ideas efficiently
Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment
Proficiency with Capital IQ, Bloomberg, MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
