Our division prevents, detects and mitigates compliance, regulatory and reputational risk across the firm and helps to strengthen the firm's culture of compliance. Compliance accomplishes these through the firm's enterprise-wide compliance risk management program. As an independent control function and part of the firm's second line of defence, Compliance assesses the firm's compliance, regulatory and reputational risk; monitors for compliance with new or amended laws, rules and regulations; designs and implements controls, policies, procedures and training; conducts independent testing; investigates, surveils and monitors for compliance risks and breaches; and leads the firm's responses to regulatory examinations, audits and inquiries.. We look for those who possess string analytical and communication skills, sound judgment, curiosity, and are able to adapt to a changing regulatory landscape.
You will work as part of the EMEA Securities Division Compliance Team to provide compliance coverage for the Equity business.
The candidate will be required to work closely with the Sales, Traders, Strats and also other departments, such as Legal, Conflicts, Controllers, Operations, Credit and Internal Audit.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS HOW YOU WILL FULFIL YOUR POTENTIAL
- Providing analysis and guidance on individual transactions and deals, trade specific regulatory compliance, new activities/products and business initiatives and public-private side issues - Monitoring of business activity to ensure compliance with appropriate rules, regulations & firm policies - Creating and implementing Compliance training programs for business unit professionals - Developing policies, procedures and best practices for each business unit - Keeping up-to-date with relevant regulatory/rule changes including the analysis and implementation of such regulatory/rule changes - Participating in regulatory and internal investigations and audits
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES WE ARE LOOKING FOR - Strong academic record with Bachelor's degree, equivalent or above required - Significant Compliance advisory experience involving securities or financial businesses required - Familiarity with Prime Brokerage, Clearing, Capital Introduction, Securities Lending, Futures, FX trading required - Demonstrable involvement in devising and implementing strategic solutions for regulatory requirements compliance required - Experience of creating and delivering compliance training required - Strong interpersonal skills, a team player who is able to prioritise in a fast moving, high pressure, changing environment - Experience of developing policies/procedures and process implementation for compliance with regulations required - Familiarity with regulatory inquiries and investigation processes, reviewing and approving financial/non-financial disclosures to ensure compliance required - Excellent communication skills both written and verbal required - Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to exercise sound and balanced judgment - Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work under pressure - Must be a collaborative team player
