The Line 2 Operational Risk Retail Banking Services (RBS) team supports the Retail Banking lines of business by working collaboratively to achieve the optimal risk and return outcomes for the Group within the risk appetite approved by the Board. The broader team is responsible for providing subject matter expertise to key stakeholders on managing operational risk as well as relationship building with key industry regulators and industry bodies.

Reporting to the Executive Manager, Operational Risk RBS, you will be accountable for key risk deliverables, as well as building strong trusted relationships with the Retail Banking Services business, Line 1 Risk and Audit teams and providing a strategic approach to the management of operational risk. You will have the opportunity to be involved with:
Providing subject matter expertise and challenge to key stakeholders on managing operational risk including in relation to major RBS projects.
Developing and deploying operational risk frameworks, policies and processes across RBS.
Leading assurance activities covering thematic deep dives into the RBS control environment.
Providing various operational risk reports and dashboards to leadership teams, risk committees and boards.
People Management including training, personal development and career planning.
We're interested in hearing from people who possess:
Previous Operational Risk or audit and assurance experience ideally within the Banking and/or Financial Services sector.
Proven experience in compiling, preparation and writing of management reports, board papers and board reports.
Strong stakeholder engagement and management skills including an ability to work with resistance.
Demonstrated strategic thinking and sound business acumen.
