Do work that matters Reporting to the General Manager, Risk Strategy Governance & Advisory, you will lead a small team responsible for the development and maintenance of CBA's Risk Management Framework.

In any given week you will
Lead the Group in the design, implementation and oversight of CBA's Risk Management Framework (Risk Appetite, Risk Management Approach, Risk Management Declaration, Stress Testing, Annual Report, External Comprehensive Reviews etc.)
Provide strategic advice and meaningful reporting to stakeholders including the Board and management committees to make conscious risk decisions that are within Risk Appetite.
Provide strategic guidance to the Group on mitigating strategies to address key risk or compliance areas of concern and manage new or emerging risks facing the banking and financial services sector.
Determine and research risk management better practice by monitoring internal Group activities and external market trends, competitor activity to guide the Group in delivering better and simpler approaches to the way we define, manage, monitor and report on risk.
Ensure that the Group meets its prudential requirements relating to risk management, and supporting the Group Chief Risk Officer and Board in fulfilling their specific obligations
Drive a collaborative culture across the Risk Management function and partner with key areas such as Line 1 Chief Controls Office, Line 2 Risk CROs, Group Strategy, Group Corporate Affairs, Finance, Investor Relations and the Risk Capability team to guide the Group in incorporating the Risk Management Framework into the way we do business.
Actively and effectively develop your direct and indirect reports.
Apply CBA's people management systems to effectively manage such issues as occupational health and safety, recruiting and on boarding new staff, setting KRAs and KPIs, creating development plans, supervising work, providing feedback formally and informally, carrying out disciplinary procedures when necessary, recognising and rewarding staff

We're interested in hearing from people who have
A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline - business or risk discipline
10-15 years' experience in a relevant risk related role
Demonstrated experience in a senior leadership role, developing and shaping organisational Risk Management Framework and approach
Dynamic leader and people manager, able to create a vision and build shared purpose
Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills and the ability to build rapport at all levels of the organisation.
The capacity to make sound commercial decisions and solve problems to achieve optimal results
