The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) was created to help foster social and economic development, create wealth and improve infrastructure connectivity in Asia by investing in sustainable infrastructure and other productive sectors. As a new addition to the global multilateral development bank (MDB) family, AIIB works closely with other multilateral and bilateral institutions as well as private sector to improve infrastructure by promoting regional cooperation and partnerships. AIIB has 102 members, including 26 prospective members, with authorized capital of USD100 billion of which USD20 billion is paid in. AIIB is a triple A rated institution.
Treasury manages AIIB's operational liquidity to ensure sufficient cash flow to meet financial commitments, such as loan disbursements and general operating expenses. In addition, Treasury proactively manages a portfolio of funds over and above operational liquidity to optimize portfolio returns while ensuring capital preservation. This is executed within clearly defined credit, liquidity and market risk parameters. Investments are diversified across instruments and markets to deliver a favorable risk-return dynamic.
The Treasury Associate-Investments reports to the Head of Investments-Treasury. The incumbent will work closely with senior Treasury staff to build up and manage AIIB Treasury's liquidity portfolios.
Conduct research and analysis on international fixed-income markets as requested to support the management of Treasury investment portfolios in various markets /currencies.
Act as a backup for the Cash Manager-Investments to provide the daily cash position and short-term liquidity forecasting/planning. This is to ensure the Bank's daily cash needs and requirements are satisfied for Treasury and Investment Operations' activities.
Assist Investment team portfolio managers with money market fund and short-term fixed income trade execution. Review and upload transactions to the Treasury Management system.
Support the implementation of AIIB's financial and investment risk management policies with respect to Treasury activities. Help ensure that all transactions are in compliance with the relevant guidance.
Collaborate with external consulting firms on designing, testing and onboarding the Treasury front office system; assist in encoding risk metrics to the system.
Prepare information memoranda, executive summaries and other reports for team meetings, management meetings and Board meetings as requested.
Act as the Investment Team focal point for internal and external audit queries and provide required reports, data and information.
Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Business Administration or related major. CFA or FRM will be a plus.
Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience in a leading international bank, preferably a Multilateral Development Bank or international organization.
Experience in conducting research and producing reports on international fixed-income market and debt instruments.
Experience with short-term/long term liquidity planning and forecasting.
Familiarity with and experience in using the Bloomberg terminal for fixed income analytics.
Strong analytical ability to explain and present guidelines/policies/project documents.
Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently, prioritize effectively and adhere to deadlines while always paying attention to detail.
Can work effectively with individuals and within teams.
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
