Job Description Overview of the role:
To support the Money Laundering Reporting Officer in carrying out his duties as required by financial crime related regulation, legislation and guidance.
To constantly review and develop the systems and controls engaged by the London branch for the prevention of financial crime.
To assist and where required, lead, in the implementation of financial crime related projects.
Work closely with the client onboarding team in case of any issues with new or existing clients. Also necessitates close collaboration with the Financial Security team in Head Office on reputational issues that could impact Natixis.
Maintain close control of the Anti-Bribery and Corruption process in the London branch, to ensure it is consistent with the policies in place in Head Office as well as in line with the industry best practice in London.
Oversight of requests received from global branches for approval of their enhanced risk clients to do business in the London branch.
Represent the London Branch in regional ABC and ML committees and forums.
Provide AML and ABC advisory services to London branch staff to ensure compliance with the Group and UK standards. When requested assist overseas locations with the handling of issues and provide advice/ opinion on cases to Head Office as appropriate.
Deputise for the MLRO when needed including approval of medium and high risk client applications and reviews.
Investigate and provide advice on the handling of all sanctions and high risk AML / CFT related issues.
Work with other departments in reviewing and improving ABC and anti-fraud processes in line with market practice and regulatory expectations.
Provide ongoing awareness training of financial crime related issues to all branch staff including induction and specific face to face training
Attend external events and forums on behalf of the Bank.
Conduct enhanced due diligence including investigation of instances of adverse news, PEPs and positive sanctions hits
Investigate reports of suspicious activity, document and log findings and report to the authorities where required
Assist, and where required lead, on financial crime related projects including, but not limited to, the implementation of recommendations from the UK Head of Financial Crime Prevention, the FCA and other competent authorities
To challenge existing systems and controls, make recommendations and implement changes where possible
