My client is a highly entrepreneurial specialist asset manager with a focus on European markets, and, a goal to deliver exceptional fund performance through the management of niche credit market strategies in liquid and illiquid credit opportunities
Truly unique role that will appeal to a wide range of candidates who have strong buy-side focused experience specifically around the production of thought provoking client focused sales and marketing collateral, strong client servicing skills, and, perhaps some familiarity around generic "product management" responsibilities
Newly created, this role will provide support to the head of the team and provide well needed expertise around the "writing" of content including market research and report writing, "white paper" and thought leadership pieces
The content of the role will be very varied and offers high levels of interaction and day to day exposure to Portfolio Managers, Analysts, Sales teams, Investor Relations, as well as C Suite / Senior Management including the Founders
Specific Responsibilities will include:
Production of Marketing Materials and Recurrent Firmwide Publications including the creation of presentations, fact sheet, monthly or quarterly investor letters, white papers, DDQs and case studies with the investment team.
Project manage and create the firm's response to client and prospect due diligence (RFPs and DDQs) including managing operational due diligence meetings
Create, develop and maintain marketing materials including thought pieces to assist in investor relations and external engagement
Manage periodic investor or client reporting for existing products and clients
Support clients and marketing efforts for different funds. Build or maintain the track record database to support the marketing effort, prepare the answers and reporting to client questions on the presentations, prepare presentations for existing clients
Partner with portfolio managers to understand and be able to communicate current market conditions, portfolio performance and the opportunities arising for clients
Undertake market research and assist in defining sales strategy for products and client segments through the monitoring of the competitive landscape, flows and market environment
New fund/product launches - participate in the launch of new funds including driving the internal approval process, developing legal structures and terms with internal counsel, and liaising closely with distribution in their development of the marketing plan
In some instances attend client and prospect meetings, including pitching for new business, reviewing existing portfolio performance and investments
You will have a strong and relevant record of academic achievement from a top-tier financial institution, along with a completion of, or, be in the process of completing industry relevant qualifications such as IMC / CAIA / CFA etc.
The key experience required is your ability to "write" and create a very wide range of both periodic and bespoke marketing collateral, along with the motivation to work for a boutique / entrepreneurial business, within a very broad role with many facets to it
Demonstrable professional work experience from within the buy-side (asset management, hedge fund, or private credit/equity preferred (i.e. illiquid investments)), with familiarity with fixed income a bare minimum, along with ideally some further familiarity around structured finance and illiquid credit strategies including Private Debt, Real Estate, Consumer Finance - even if theoretical rather than practical
Ability to develop strong and trusting relationships with both internal and external clients swiftly and effectively
Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills to understand and clearly articulate sophisticated concepts, ideas, and processes
Team approach - able to coordinate between various groups within a firm
Results driven individual with a high level of attention to detail
Ability to deliver highly reliable and detail-orientated project management in time pressured circumstances
Strong knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint are essential
