No doubt when you were doing your degree, or masters, you got scratched the surface of pricing models and volatility models, with things like Black Scholes and Stochastic Calculus (not limited to finance).
How about jumping in head first into a a trading firm where you'll be able to implement these kinds of models, almost from day one?
Don't worry too much about how you implement them into production. Whilst it would be great for you to have some C++ experience, the expert level knowledge of programming can be taught to you.
What you need to know, is the maths.
You'll be a high achiever in maths and no mathematical model is beyond you.
You'll get to use your mathematical skills not only to implement models from the business, but in the long term, you'll be given the freedom to come up with your own ideas to create new business.
