The Role Responsibilities
Develop and maintain retail credit risk models (IRB, IFRS 9, scorecards and stress testing).
Successfully complete a given list of projects end to end credit risk model development projects with limited supervision.
Deliver work that is accurate and contains rigorous analysis to support your recommendations and conclusions.
Demonstrate good technical experience.
Ensure models are developed and maintained in-line with the applicable policies and standards.
Have an understanding of the IRB and IFRS 9 requirements.
Communicate and document without much guidance from senior managers.
Have basic people management skills (e.g. manage and mentor junior analysts).
Have a collaborative spirit (within team and with other teams and stakeholders).
Our Ideal Candidate
Preferred: Bachelors Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research or other related field (Masters a plus).
8+ years experience in scorecard and/or IRB, IFRS 9 model development, maintenance, review and validation in a banking environment.
Proficient statistical programming skills in SAS (and other statistical software a plus), strong analytical skills and understanding of quantitative and statistical analysis. Strong experience with: DATA step data manipulation with arrays, do-loops, and merges; SAS Macro language, SAS/GRAPH, PROC SQL experience, OLS and logistic regression, univariate and multivariate statistical analysis, CART and/or CHAID.
Able to creatively apply analytical solutions to business problems.
Able to manage multiple concurrent projects effectively.
Solid written and verbal communication ability.
Good understanding of credit risk for the retail portfolio and retail banking products.
Good understanding of CRR and local regulatory requirements. Awareness of updates on regulations.
Experience in communicating with regulators a plus.
