The role of governance is to ensure the organization is on track to deliver against our established goals and objectives and in alignment with our strategies while adhering to our established principles, policies, and standards. This role is responsible to drive the governance and oversight processes for Silicon Valley Bank's Global Services organization (which includes Information Technology, Program Delivery, Global Operations, and Client Services).
This is primarily an individual contributor role who will partner with the Business Risk Officers, Global Services Leadership team, second line of defense groups (Legal, Enterprise Risk Management, Corporate Compliance, Sourcing & Procurement, etc.). This is a generalist role with a potential to diversify into specialized risk domains as the bank expands internationally. This person will be responsible for four areas within the first line risk management function, namely, Performance & Risk reporting, Policies & Procedures management, Intra Group Outsourcing and Risk Center of Excellence (CoE). The Risk CoE is responsible to manage the Global Services Risk Program and strategy acting as a centralized liaison to second line groups with a focus on key documentation, standardized templates, risk training and communication).
The role will:
Develop and maintain framework and procedures around IT Governance & Intra Group Outsourcing and Performance Management, in alignment with industry frameworks such as COBIT.
Drive consistency across operational to executive reporting in alignment with strategic priorities, initiatives and goals.
Facilitate periodic reporting on KPIs/KRIs and handle escalations to committees and second line functions.
Manage the Global Services Intra Group SLA reporting and oversight for the bank's global footprint including UK, Germany, Canada, and other emerging markets
Actively collaborate with Business Risk Officers to support BU specific reporting and publish a Scorecard on the Risk Officers Program.
Facilitate Issue Management Program as it relates to action plans committed to second/third lines of defense and external agencies.
Perform data analysis and create ad-hoc presentations to facilitate strategic decision making for the Chief Operations Officer.
Establish a centralized oversight function on policies and procedures and handle policy communications.
Roll out and mature specific components of Global Services Risk Program within the First Line of Defense units in alignment with Second Line of Defense programs.
Manage and/or support other special projects, initiatives, as needed.
5-7 years of governance or risk management experience with a bank, financial institution, fintech, or financial services company.
Experience reporting to senior management, the Board, and/or Committees of the Board.
Working knowledge of risk management frameworks, financial services technology and regulatory landscape.
Strong expertise with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) and Adobe. Experience with Tableau and GRC tools a plus.
Strong analytic & problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail and an investigative nature.
Ability to collaborate, negotiate, influence and build consensus across the organization at all levels.
Must be adaptable and flexible to support change in a fast paced and ambiguous environment.
