We are looking for someone to join our markets team in London to contribute to our Capital Daily and Global Markets services. Candidates should have an excellent undergraduate degree in economics or a closely-related subject. They should also have a minimum of two years of professional experience producing research on currencies and asset classes, including bonds and equities. The ideal candidate will have had experience of covering currencies and asset classes in developed and emerging economies.
The successful candidate will be expected to formulate views on the financial markets that flow from our macroeconomic analysis. Their main area of coverage will be developed Europe. We are looking for candidates with strong analytical skills, who have a detailed understanding of how economic developments affect the valuations of currencies and assets.
The ability to write accurately, clearly and concisely in English is essential. The hiring process includes a writing assessment.
The main responsibility would be to contribute to our research on the markets. This would include:
Writing the Key Market Themes section of our Capital Daily service on a frequent basis.
Writing a wide range of research for our Global Markets service.
Presenting views to clients in person, on the telephone, and potentially at seminars.
Building a profile, including through media appearances.
