The Senior Data Scientist oversees the activities of all junior data scientists, ensuring that they follow modelling best practices to help make smarter decisions to deliver better products. Applicants are required to have experience in deploying end-to-end machine learning solutions. The Data Scientist's primary focus will be in applying data modelling techniques, doing statistical analysis, and building high quality solutions that will be integrated with CIMB products. RESPONSIBILITIES · Train and oversee junior data scientists in the development and deployment of machine learning models, (selecting features, building and optimizing classifiers using machine-learning techniques). · Spearhead the designing, evaluating, and implementing of machine-learning frameworks that can adequately handle the needs of a rapidly growing data-driven department. · Come up with novel ways to utilize CIMB's vast data stores to help create better products and services, such as finding ways to optimize the workloads and processes to ensure continuous accurate, reliable and timely delivery of key insights. · Manage the continuous testing and deployment of data pipelines, new data services, and machine learning models. · Spearhead the development of systems, architectures, and platforms that can scale to the 3 Vs of Big data (Volume, Velocity, Variety). · Partner data scientists and engineers by leading the movement cleaning and normalizing subsets of data of interest as a preparatory step to prepare the rich data for deeper analysis on how to improve the user experience for CIMB customers around the region . · Work with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in our data systems.
· 5+ years of hands-on experience, preferably machine learning algorithms and their implementations in banking/finance. · Expert understanding of machine learning techniques, algorithms and APIs such as k-NN, Naive Bayes, SVM, Decision Forests, Tensorflow, Keras etc. · Proven ability in using Python, R. Excellence in at least one of these is highly desirable. · Proficiency in working SQL, Hive or Hadoop Clusters a plus. · Good communication skills. · Well versed in setting up continuous integration and deployment for big data or other projects. · Real passion for data, new data technologies, and discovering new and interesting solutions to the company's data needs. · A degree or higher in Data Science, Computer Science, Electronics or Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology or other related technical disciplines.
