A challenging role within our dedicated legal team, primarily supporting the activities of Credit Suisse's APAC Financing Group (AFG).
Opportunity to provide legal advisory and execution support primarily to the AFG business, including on (i) a wide variety of financing products including loans, bonds, convertible loans/bonds, exchangeable bonds, take private and pre-IPO financings and (ii) principal investments. This includes assistance in preparing, reviewing and negotiating engagement letters and indemnities, term sheets, internally documented loans, confidentiality undertakings, marketing materials and disclaimers and transaction-specific documentation (in conjunction with external counsel where relevant).
Opportunity to work on transactions across the APAC region, including North Asia, India and Australia, with particular focus on SE Asia and frontier markets.
Responsibility to identify and analyse legal and regulatory risks, and ensure that they are understood by the relevant business partners and addressed in a timely and appropriate manner, including raising matters requiring senior input and approval on a timely basis
Responsibility to instruct and handle external counsels, and ensure the quality and value of those services.
Coordinate with other teams within the General Counsel function, and with other key internal business associates both within and outside the region (including the Compliance, Control Room and Credit Risk teams for example) as appropriate, who will be relying on your legal and strategic advice both on AFG related matters and on other ad hoc matters relating to the operation of the business, including new business projects for example.

Equivalent work experience of 3+ years gained at a leading law firm or leading investment bank.
Proficiency of the legal and regulatory regimes applicable to lending activities in APAC jurisdictions.
Excellent technical, problem solving, analytical and legal drafting skills.
Outstanding transaction management and execution skills, including the ability to manage external counsels, priorities matters effectively and pro-actively drive projects and matters forward to resolution.
Strong collaborator who can build trusted positive relationships with business associates and other team members.
Ability to balance business needs and risk appetite of the Bank.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in another relevant language would be a bonus but is not essential.
