This is an opportunity to join SVB Capital's Finance team for the summer. This group is responsible for the platform's finance operations and compliance reporting. The right candidate will be someone who is looking for exposure to accounting within an investment fund environment.
As the finance team intern, you will support the team in accounting, reporting, and other special projects. Under the direction of and reporting to an SVB Capital Finance Manager, responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Assisting the finance and accounting team with period-end close tasks and the preparation of corporate (SVBFG)/investor reports, financial statements, and tax reporting
Contributing in the daily cash management process
Assisting in responding to inquiries from limited partners
Playing a key role in onboarding of new investors, investments, and fund products
Participating in documentation of finance team processes and procedures
Supporting the investment valuation process through review of related cap tables, legal documents, etc.
Other Special Projects:
Supporting finance as well as the investment team in middle office-like functions such performance analysis and reporting
Assist with ad hoc reporting for investor due diligence requests, syndication cost reconciliation, etc. during fundraising
Various data management tasks as needed by the legal and finance teams
Pursuing an undergraduate or master's degree in accounting, finance, or economics
Proven ability to thrive and take initiative in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Excellent communication skills (oral, written, and listening)
Demonstrated ability to efficiently gather, synthesize, and analyze complex data
Organized with strong attention to detail
Discretion and sound judgment to handle sensitive/confidential information
