Job Description MFS Investment Management is seeking to hire an Associate Payroll Analyst for their Boston, MA headquarters. As a member of the Corporate Finance team, you will execute payroll transactions across multiple business units and assist in accurate and timely processing of the full range of payroll services.
Execute financial transactions through research, analysis, understanding tax code and foreign currency in order to properly handle accounting treatment, tax and regulatory requirements and internal controls while utilizing various financial system applications.
Administer the timesheet process for weekly employees throughout the firm.
Exhibit excellent customer service by serving as first contact to employees to answer basic inquiries and directing more complex questions to the appropriate staff member and/or Manager.
Assist in the resolution of general payroll-related questions or issues by researching policies and practices, and seeking guidance from the senior staff members.
Assist with processing all new hire information, tax setup, direct deposit, and benefits maintenance utilizing both Ceridian and Workday.
Responsible for administrative duties such as filing and data entry
Perform account and system reconciliations in support of the Payroll Operations function. Troubleshoot and resolve discrepancies based on extensive research and analysis of related activity.
Participate in the communication of critical information to Corporate Finance and MFS' business units relating to system updates and procedural changes.
Participate in various cross-functional projects in order to satisfy business requirements and gain operating efficiencies.
Calculate and review deduction calculations to ensure accuracy along with reconciling any discrepancies.
Review deductions made by outside payroll vendors for accuracy and inform payroll manager of accuracy.
Generate reports for internal use and may be involved in interpreting data.
Bachelor's degree and 1 to 2 years related payroll/finance experience or five+ years of related payroll/finance experience.
Strong communication and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Strong computer skills including experience in spreadsheet and database applications.
Ability to work overtime as needed.
