The job will provide legal support to Columbia Threadneedle's Global Asset Management business, primarily supporting our Product and Distribution teams.
You will be joining a dynamic Global Asset Management legal and compliance team that provides a broad range of advice to Columbia Threadneedle's Global Asset Management business. As a member of the Global Asset Management legal team, you will interact frequently with lawyers and business partners based in EMEA, Asia and North America. In addition, you will also join a larger legal and compliance team that is part of the General Counsel's Organisation of Ameriprise Financial, a publicly traded, Fortune 500 financial services company.
In this role, you will be:
the main legal adviser to the EMEA product team with respect to our retail (primarily UCITS) fund ranges domiciled in Luxembourg and the UK.
advising on all aspects of the product cycle, including offering documents and other legal documentation.
engaging with regulators and external counsel to facilitate approvals for new products and to support product changes.
overseeing fund registrations and filings, including cross-border registrations and will be asked to advise the distribution of the funds.
advising and researching on legal developments, regulation and practices relating to the retail funds industry from a global perspective.
asked to advise on or support a variety of other matters not directly related to the retail funds business, including mergers and acquisitions.
