Who we're looking for We're looking for a legal counsel to provide full legal and corporate secretarial support in relation to the wealth management activities across Schroders Asia-Pacific offices. This role will report into the Head of Legal, Southeast Asia and Head of Legal, Wealth Management.
The team Compliance, Legal & Governance (CLG) includes lawyers, compliance and governance professionals who serve Schroders' business across the Investment, Wealth Management, Distribution, Product and Infrastructure divisions of the firm. The Schroders legal team operates as a trusted partner, proactively facilitating the sustainable growth of the business. The successful candidate will become a member of the Schroders Asia-Pacific legal team and work in close collaboration with the wider Schroder's Group legal teams, including the Wealth Management Legal teams in London and Zurich.
What you'll do
With appropriate supervision and direction, you'll provide advice on legal on legal matters within Wealth Management business.
Scope of work includes the following:
terms of business and associated documentation;
counterparties' agreements, including third party custodians and banks;
products and services;
cross-border investment activities;
corporate transactions, in close collaboration with the wider Schroders' Group legal teams;
data protection, privacy and intellectual property matters, in close collaboration with the wider Schroders' Group legal teams;
litigation or legal proceedings, in close collaboration with the wider Schroders' Group legal team; and
corporate secretarial work.
The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need
Qualified lawyer in Singapore
At least 7 years' PQE either in a private practice or in house legal environment
Good knowledge of both legal and regulatory risk associated with private banking
Able to articulate legal issues, risks, complex concepts and the commercial implications of a recommended course of action in a clear and concise manner
What you'll be like
