Job Purpose The Head of FMCG Debt and Infrastructure manages a team of Financial Controllers to ensure fund financial performance, manage all the financial aspects of fund vehicles and to deliver fund reporting in accordance with client, regulatory and internal requirements. He / she manages the performance and development of team members in line with the common management objectives.
Key Accountabilities - Responsible of the overall financial management of funds / separate accounts for his business area :
a. Management of the investment structure including notably cash management, maintenance of the tax structure and compliance with tax obligations, preparation and validation of financial statements b. Responsibility of preparation of cash forecasts and capital call / distributions determination c. Compliance with fund / mandate documentation d. Fund performance monitoring: preparation and review of fund cash flows (actuals and forecasts),
- Responsible towards Fund Management of the preparation and delivery of annual, half-yearly, quarterly or monthly reporting (including regulatory reporting) and of the preparation of financial performance dashboards ; define and monitor production timetable - Ensure accuracy, completeness and timeliness of productions of external service providers (Fund Admnistrator, Depositary banks, Corporate Manager, Tax Advisor and auditors) and of FMCG teams (before sending out to internal or external clients). This may include acting as a director of corporate entities. - Financial controlling and risk monitoring at portfolio and fund level ; monitoring of risk ratios and investment guidelines - Assess the external provider's performance, effectiveness of their management processes and cost efficiency of the service. Ensure compliance with defined governance and processes. - Ensure reliability of the IT tools in conjunction with IT and request improvements and define developments ; ensure data quality in the IT tools - Support in the selection, appointment and on-boarding of local service providers - Harmonise controlling processes and reporting - Be the main point of contact for external and internal client and take appropriate actions to address adhoc client requests - Participate or lead transversal projects if required
Be a team leader : - Hire and retain talented teams comprising complementary profiles - Define team objectives and deliver on-going feedback and annual appraisals, - Define split of tasks between all team members; main agendas and schedules of tasks (with time implications and mile-stones) - Communicate internally (within the team) and externally for appropriate decisions - Energise the team so that everyone is pleased to work in a changing environment and dealing with several subjects at the same time - Participate in and drive transversal projects if requested - Take full part to AXA IM Real Assets transformation program (Shift). This may include leading one or several workstreams or contributing to those. Develop a constructive collaboration with other local teams to contribute to business and Operations processes improvements, and share best practices with Middle Operations in other countries - Perform other tasks and projects as assigned from time to time - Reinforce sound and effective risk management in line with the Risk and Compliance Objectives & Measures Framework
Upon transfer of the Real Estate Listed Equities activity in Q1 2020, this role will also include an oversight of this activity (with a review of the team activity)
Role Requirements Education/Qualifications
Degree in Business Administration (Controlling or Finance)
Proven experience in fund management and / or fund financial management with knowledge / understanding of real estate, infrastructure debt fund structures or private equity
Proven experience in audit, fund accounting, fund controlling and financial control in the European real estate industry
Strong knowledge of fixed income / credit instruments (loans, bonds etc) and derivatives
Strong knowledge of real estate debt instruments and structuring
Successful team management experience
Knowledge and Skills
Excellent IT skills (including advanced Excel, VBA)
Proven skills in accounting (IFRS) and cash flow modelling
Fluent in spoken and written English
Excellent communication skills
Good analytical skills
