We are looking for a bright, energetic, well-organized, and effective Private Equity Investment professional to identify, underwrite, and recommend investment opportunities across Primary fund commitments and co-investments. Additionally, the Private Equity officer will be tasked with developing and executing on the top-down private equity strategy.
Support the implementation of a comprehensive investment program for private equity strategies, including venture, growth, buyout, and distressed by performing sourcing, underwriting and due diligence, investment execution and manager oversight activities. Expectation for individual to lead or co-lead due diligence process within first 12-18months.
Assist in the development and execution of the Private Equity strategy including: target portfolio allocation, commitment and cash flow modeling, forward calendar for target GPs and target markets, and reporting/monitoring progress against the strategy.
Sourcing: develop and foster relationships with Private Equity GPs, consultants and peers to identify and secure investment opportunities with top tier teams. Effectively manage time and resources to prioritize opportunities that are in service of the RSIC Private Equity strategy. Elevate interesting opportunities for committee approval as appropriate.
Underwriting: adhere to RSIC investment due diligence process and policies. Embrace and balance both a qualitative and qualitive approach to investment analysis and due diligence. Leverage internal and external resources to work smart, and inform decision making based on data and sound judgement.
Execution: Work with cross functional groups including legal, operational due diligence, investment operations and investment reporting to negotiate and close legal documents, and open and fund future capital commitments.
Monitoring: Adhere to RSIC on-going due diligence guidelines. Assist in comprehensive portfolio reviews and asset class deep dives. Elevate necessary issues to senior team. Perform all responsibilities of LPAC membership relating to meeting attendance, amendments, consents, extensions, etc.
Co-investment: Proactively source and manage existing GP relationships to maintain and increase Co-investment flow. Assist in Co-investment committee meetings including coordinating data requests, timelines, sizing commitments, communication with GPs and creation of deal tear sheets.
Bachelor degree or higher in business, finance, economics, mathematics or similar quantitatively-oriented discipline.
3+ years of successful investment experience implementing any aspect of a private markets investment program.
Strong analytical, quantitative, and critical reasoning skills.
Demonstrated experience working with Bloomberg or other investment and risk tools.
Ability to perform initial and ongoing due diligence on private market funds; ability to effectively negotiate legal documents with internal and external counsel; ability to work effectively with colleagues, consultants, external managers, and others in the investment community.
Strong relationship skills.
Superior written and verbal communication skills and fluency with Excel and PowerPoint.
Attention to detail, and ability to juggle multiple tasks, respond to changing priorities, and meet deadlines.
Willingness to roll up sleeves and get work done no matter what the task.
High ethical and professional standards.
Master’s degree in business, finance, or economics or a Bachelor degree in the specified fields, Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and/or Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designations
3+ years of experience in an institutional investment environment with emphasis on private equity investments.
5+ years of experience in performing initial and ongoing due diligence on private market funds; ability to effectively negotiate the legal documents with internal and external counsel; ability to work effectively with colleagues, consultants, external managers, and others in the investment community.
