Senior Technical Business Analyst - Algorithmic Portfolio Management and Trading Solutions Want to be the senior technical business analyst on one of our most innovative, impactful and exciting projects?
State Street Global Advisors (SSgA) is seeking a VP level Sr. Technical Business Analyst position in Boston. This role will be a part of our Front Office "Application Technology Solutions (ATS)" group within State Street Global Advisors IT working on a set of projects that will propel our investment management and trading processes into a new era! This Sr. BA role will be working to become an IT product owner for some of SSGA's portfolio manager and trader algorithmic solutions. These solutions are being developed to assist, utilizing partial automation, in PM and trader decision making of certain repetitive day to day investment tasks. The initial asset class in scope for this project is Fixed Income, but may extend into other areas over time.
The BA role would be a liaison role between the end business users and developers working on the algorithmic solutions. The BA would bring together and document requirements and communicate the requirements to the development team. The BA would also review and test development team output prior to the business users testing the given functionality. The BA would support testing and post production use as the need arises within the business. Job Requirements and Desired Skills Our ideal candidate is someone with strong analysis, communication, teamwork, and innovation skills that is ambitious eager to make a difference! They would be able to work both independently and within a team setting. They would have 8+ years of domain experience in fixed income portfolio management and trading systems. They would have experience in mathematics in areas such as algebra, statistics, linear algebra, calculus concepts, and working with fixed income analytics. Experience in projects involving advanced algorithms, models, and machine learning a strong plus for this role. Experience in guiding mixed onshore/offshore Agile development teams as an analyst or product owner is a must. This role will be responsible to capture requirements for new development efforts and fixes from our portfolio management and trading teams. Technical Skills
Conduct Data Analysis (e.g. build SQL Queries, interpret results)
Be comfortable following the logic of Python code.
Experience in an Agile Requirements system such as RTC or Jira.
Candidates that have secondary technical skillsets in more of the following areas would be differentiated from those that do not.
Familiarity with mathematical languages (e.g. R, Matlab) and/or experience with advanced analytic platforms such as Netezza or Spark
Familiarity with coding VBA or Python
Knowledge of Machine Learning
Experience with a Bloomberg terminal and with Bloomberg data APIs
Experience with Fixed Income front office platforms especially CRD, Point, PORT, Yield Book, etc.
Education Requirements Minimum of a bachelor's degree with coursework in Business (e.g. Finance, MIS, Management areas of concentration). Candidates that possess a masters degree in a finance or similar discipline or a CFA charter holder would be differentiated.
