We Offer We are currently looking for a legal specialist to join our Legal Data Protection & Sourcing, APAC team with a focus on Hong Kong and North Asia coverage. The role is based in HK and you will work closely with colleagues based in Singapore, Zurich, Poland, the US and other locations on regional and global data protection issues and sourcing transactions. Key Responsibilities
Collaborating with the bank's Sourcing and Vendor Management and Supplier Risk and Control teams on procurement contracts with external vendors (and intra-group arrangements), advising on legal issues such as data protection, confidentiality, intellectual property, liability, indemnification, representations, warranties and termination
Coordinating with relevant SMEs in General Counsel, Compliance, DPO, and CISO to ensure that relevant requirements, according to law, regulation and Credit Suisse policies, are appropriately reflected in advice on data protection matters (including control requirements) and in procurement contracts
Advising on relevant legal risk considerations in the context of strategic transformational projects, including Cloud, FinTech and outsourcing arrangements, and to assist with the design and implementation of internal frameworks and policies
Developing and maintaining relevant template agreements and aspects of the internal sourcing framework relevant to General Counsel and responsibility for monitoring and staying abreast of legal and regulatory developments in the region
Proactive participation in (and potentially lead) efficiency, improvement and knowledge projects within the broader team. University degree in Law admitted to practice in Hong Kong, Singapore or other commonwealth jurisdiction preferable. Proficiency in Mandarin would be advantageous as you will have to liaise with Chinese-speaking clients
A sound legal background with at least six years of equivalent work experience as a lawyer. Experience working in-house for a financial institution or in a global law firm in the procurement and data management field highly preferable. Outstanding legal, analytical and problem solving skills and exercise of judgment with high ethical and control standards.
Strong transactional experience with a broad range of contracting in the North Asia region including technology, consulting services, data protection and privacy, IT and other types of procurement and vendor contracts. Experience working in an international multi-cultural and a fast paced dynamic environment which will enable you to contribute to the team's success.
Outstanding interpersonal, multi-tasking and time management skills which enables you to establish and maintain effective client relationships and trust and work independently. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills along with a positive 'can-do' attitude and ability to work under pressure
