See yourself in our team The Chief Controls Office is responsible for developing the non-financial risk strategy and supporting Colonial First State (CFS) to proactively reduce risk exposure in the business in the context of our risk appetite.
The Controls Enablement team is responsible for driving a strong risk and control environment across CFS. The team will achieve this through working with the Line 1 embedded teams to review policy changes, RAS maintenance and monitoring, risk profiling (including emerging risks), risk and control optimization.
Do work that matters Reporting to the Senior Manager Controls Enablement, you will design and implement controls to enable better risk and compliance outcomes. On any given day you will:
Identify, lead and manage the continuous improvement of the business control environment by using data to generate insights and reports;
Manage root cause analysis of issues and incidents, identifying and implementing control improvements;
Be responsible for the effective design of controls for all new and changing processes and operations, and support the business through the implementation;
Identify, initiate and manage actions to mitigate risks and to strengthen controls, including issues identified through audits and other external processes;
Responsible for ensuring the correct risk and controls overlay the end to end process mapping and documentation management to support the control process;
Monitor Issues and Incidents across the business and compliance to the Group Operational Risk Management Framework;
Prepare and present appropriate oversight of portfolio recommendations;
Provide oversight for managing investment portfolios, including identifying solutions to issues as they arise and implementing changes;
Undertake analysis of the return and risk characteristics of multi manager portfolios;
Contribute to development and implementation of risk control, risk monitoring and performance analysis for the multi-manager portfolios;
Contribution to the asset allocation decisions affecting the portfolios;
Provide Line 1 risk support for the Investments team within CFS.
We're interested in hearing from people who possess:
Demonstrated experience within Operational Risk and/or Compliance in Financial Services or Superannuation;
Keen interest and understanding of investment markets;
Ability to analyse/identify risks and opportunities and recommend appropriate actions;
Influencing and consulting skills, the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels;
Ability to think critically and analytically and use data driven insights to solve problems.
