RM would be responsible for Origination of network business from China. RM would work closely as a team with Credit Analyst (CA) and Client Coverage Managers (CCM) in on-boarding clients, deepening relationships and driving revenue growth.
The RM will be primarily responsible for developing the CB China corridor, working with the Global &/ Regional Account Manager (GAM/RAM) where relevant, and the China corridor team to deliver the SCB Network to China MNCs in Malaysia.
Responsibilities include the execution/ formulation of country account plans of the clients they cover, establishing and maintaining an understanding of the client and their needs and steering the client relationship along with the relevant GAM where applicable. Candidate will be accountable for revenues, profitability and risk acceptance (AML, CDD and Credit) of the clients they cover at a country level.
The RM is also expected to act as a champion of the Bank's brand, culture, and values.
The Role Responsibilities
Responsible as the primary coverage and origination point for the China client portfolio (both existing and NTB) which are in line with Commercial Bank's appetite and strategy.
Leverage on SCB's network and franchise to capture more China investment into Malaysia as well as to 'throw' non-GAM Chinese prospects to the network.
Actively identify client needs across a full range of relevant products, originate new business by capitalizing on the bank competitive attributes (e.g. Network).
Develop and maintain an understanding of clients' business needs and decision-making processes and identification of new opportunities for the Bank to m aximize returns whilst maintaining focus on client outcomes and deepening client share of mind. It is key that the RM stays abreast of developments in markets/ sectors in which their clients operate.
Engagement of senior internal stakeholders where necessary to deepen client relationship and resolution of any other pertinent issues.
Client on-boarding & deal execution
Responsible for working with the GAM &/ RAM (where relevant) & other relevant internal parties to deliver the SCB network to our clients by ensuring an efficient client on-boarding and deal execution process.
Working collaboratively with the GAM &/ RAM (where relevant), Product Partners and other relevant parties to provide well-designed solutions that meet client needs.
Take the initiative regarding regulatory, reputational and ethical matters, and provide proactive advice to clients on these issues
Embed the Group's values and code of conduct and ensure adherence to the highest standards of ethics and compliance with relevant policies, processes and regulations.
Account Management & portfolio quality
Overall responsible and accountable for the credit quality of the assigned/acquired portfolio. Working closely with relevant internal parties to ensure that client.
Establishing effective working relationships with key client contacts and to maintain a strong working relationship with other key (internal & external) stakeholders
Proactively manage the designated client portfolio to ensure:
Risks are appropriately identified and managed. Consult with internal relevant stakeholders to ensure that the portfolio remains credit worthy and within the policies of the bank.
The client portfolio is managed in compliance with the regulatory environment, keeping up to date with applicable changes and Group policies with ability to contribute to policy formulation.
Key regulatory risks and concerns are raised through the governance framework and with Banking management.
Adhere to relevant sales disciplines in accordance with Commercial Banking standards e.g. Account Planning, Call Reports, Deal Pipeline Management, and static data management.
Regular engagement with product partners to ensure breadth and depth of client coverage and deepening of share of mind.

Our Ideal Candidate
Fluent in both spoken and written Mandarin & English.
University Graduate. A degree in Banking or Finance is preferred.
Ideally 7+ years of relevant experience in serving commercial/ corporate clients is preferred. Experience in servicing international businesses under the cross-border context is a plus.
Strong financial analysis skills and ability to assess client creditworthiness and key risk considerations/ mitigation . Sound knowledge of commercial/ corporate banking products/ procedures as well as a good understanding of local and regional business drivers would be an added advantage.
