Weaver is looking for a Compliance Specialist to join our growing Human Resources Team. A Human Resources Compliance Specialist will facilitate compliance with regard to individual and firm level regulatory requirements.
Management, organization, preparation and completion of regulatory and compliance documents and reports to satisfy regulatory agency requirements including, but not limited to, the following: o CPA and other licensing and/or certification obtainment and renewals o CPE provider renewal o Peer reviews o Memberships
Stay abreast of developments in compliance regulations including but not limited to state societies, state boards and other regulatory agencies
Ensure operating manuals and procedural documents stay current when regulations change
Provide reports on a regular basis, and as directed or requested, to keep management informed of the status and progress of compliance efforts including, but not limited to, the following: o CPA and other licensing and/or certification obtainment and renewals o CPE provider renewal o Yellow book o Peer reviews o Memberships o Firm policies
Assist in developing and overseeing a system for uniform handling of such violations
Management and tracking of Becker CPA Review program
Respond to inquiries from staff and regulatory agency requirements regarding compliance documentation
Educate staff on regulatory agency requirements
Conduct training sessions for staff on compliance topics.
Maintain the CPE management system for CPE provider compliance including, but not limited to, maintaining off-site course certifications and issuance of CPE credits for internal courses to ensure system is accurate
Education and Skills:
Bachelor's degree preferred
3 years minimum experience in Human Resources, Compliance or related fields
Highly organized and detail oriented
Knowledgeable of CPA and other licensing requirements
Strong written and oral communication skills
Work independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function
Experience using Microsoft Office Suite
Demonstrate ethical and professional standards outlined by the firm
