Vice President, Area Marketing, Mastercard Labs Strategy & Marketing

Mastercard Labs is Mastercard's global Research and Development division, focused on the evolution of technology and global trends and the implication of these forces on the payments and commerce industry. Our proven methodologies enable us to generate new ideas from a variety of sources and fast-track the de-risking of these products into commercialization.
The primary remit for the Vice President of Strategy & Marketing is to lead the development of Mastercard's futurist narrative and the end-to-end vision and marketing execution responsibility for Labs. Reporting to the Head of Innovation Management and Marketing, qualified individuals will be able to answer the following questions:

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include developing the strategy and narratives for Mastercard's innovation platform and our unique point of view on how emerging technologies will impact the future. You will be responsible for executing the communications and marketing tactics to amplify the innovation story for Mastercard and Labs narrative to external and internal stakeholders and supporting the marketing and communications needs of Labs capabilities and product portfolios. Daily, you will partner internally across Labs with the Head of Mastercard Labs, Portfolios, R&D, Innovation Management, Start Path, Labs as a Service and other internal business groups to build marketing strategies and campaigns. You'll be the primary payments futurist and story teller lead for the Head of Mastercard Labs working alongside global and regional communications groups. You'll interact cross-functionally across Mastercard and build relationships with stakeholders from across product groups, B2B Marketing, Investor Relations, Brand, Learning & Development, and other key stakeholders to find synergies and amplify our efforts.
The right person for this position is comfortable defining white space and managing change and ambiguity. They will demonstrate a high level of creativity and problem-solving, curiosity, ability to thrive under pressure, a focus on execution, details and organization, and have the ability to operate globally and locally. Must have strong understanding of payments and financial services as well as excellent oral and written communication skills.
Define future scenarios in B2B, B2C, and B2G payments and commerce that will impact our existing and new customer segments
Craft innovation narratives and thought leadership position papers for target audiences and emerging technologies
Lead the day to day strategic marketing function and execution supporting Labs capabilities and initiatives internally and externally
Develop marketing collateral, product marketing assets, and original thought leadership to demonstrate the future of commerce and payments from our unique vantage point of view
Provide creative thinking, foresight, and planning for campaigns, events, and initiatives
Identify and build distribution channels, influencers, and other internal stakeholders to amplify messaging
Curate and design experiential activations for special events
Build collaborative partnerships with global and regional Communications and marketing teams, B2B marketing, brand, product and investor relations teams across Mastercard
Measure impact and track metrics
Manage global team, budget, agency and vendor relationships including price negotiation, contract oversight, software licensing, and other tasks to ensure successful execution
Serve as trusted advisor and business partner to Head of Innovation Management & Marketing, Labs Leadership, Regional Innovation Leads, the Mastercard Experience Team, the Start Path program, R&D, Labs Innovation Management, Labs as a Service, and Portfolios
