The Wealth Planning Support (WPS) group is a business unit within Private Wealth Management dedicated to providing advisory, planning, and training support to TD Wealth advisors in Financial Planning and Private Wealth Management.
The Wealth Planning Support Specialist will be responsible for supporting the development and delivery of TD Wealth Planning Support and Plan Oversight. Client-Focused:
Responsible for providing general wealth planning advice and guidance (tax, estate planning, retirement) as well as the use of wealth planning tools and process Advisors dealing with mass affluent and HNW clients through email and phone
Financial planning subject matter expert for building and presenting financial plans
Conduct Plan reviews to ensure adherence to financial planning standards and provide feedback for advisor development
Develop training and support material to help advisors navigate financial planning software
Be proactively involved in spotting opportunities for complimentary businesses and solutions
Proactive and reactive engagement with advisors to coach them on plan delivery with a focus on external asset consolidation and the overall client experience
Responsible for follow-up and tracking of incremental success with field partners
Carry out independent research on relevant advanced financial, tax and estate planning topics, as it relates to plans under construction
Keep abreast of wealth planning developments and help increase the overall wealth planning knowledge level of the Wealth Planning Support group
Delivery and enhancement of Plan Oversight with a focus on regulatory compliance, the client experience and productivity
Delivery of client- and advisor-centric support and legendary service culture
Demonstrate leadership and support the employee experience
A minimum 5 years of wealth planning experience gained through client contact or in a technical advisory support role to advisors, coupled with investment industry knowledge
Fluent in French is an asset
Understanding/knowledge of Canadian and provincial specific taxation for individuals and corporations
Financial planning designation (CFP, F.Pl.)
Marketing/professional writing experience
Training and facilitation experience is an asset
Self-started who is results-oriented and who works effectively and collaboratively in a team-environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and PowerPoint
Some experience engaging with clients or advisors using screen share technology would be an asset
Knowledge of and experience working with advanced financial planning issues
Must possess a passion for financial, tax and estate planning and have a good understanding of how advisors work with clients
Strong passion and focus on building a first-class wealth planning support organization
Sales-focused and -oriented
A self-starter who is results-oriented and gets things done on time
Works effectively and collaboratively in a team environment
Strong communication, presentation, time management, and organizational skills
