The role will be base in our client's London office in the West-End and will be heading up the firm's European operations. This person will be reporting directly into the MD Global Operations in the US with a dotted line into the CFO who is based in London. This should essentially be seen as a 'Head of' position.
Their ideal candidate will be bringing to the table a number of years' experience working within closed ended fund operations (private equity, distressed debt etc.) This person must also display a professional maturity beyond their years as they will be expected to regularly engage with both the investment team and very senior stakeholders in London and the US.
For someone who is driven and ambitious enough this move will greatly expedite their career to a C-suite position. Given the highly meritocratic environment at this company, strong performers can be expected to be exceptionally well compensated.
Overseeing all European distressed investments from an operational perspective.
Partnering with the investment team to review private deal documents, ensuring the investment is understood, set up and recorded correctly.
Coordinating funding of distressed deals with the treasury group and portfolio management teams, understanding the various timing requirements of each account to ensure proper notice is provided.
Ensuring all corporate action and similar events are responded to accurately and timely.
Coordinating the processing of all restructuring events for internal books and records.
Acting as the key escalation point for internal teams (including the portfolio management, accounting and legal departments) on issues related to European distressed investments.
Working with operational teams to resolve position- or cash-related reconciliation items.
Leading / coordinating all projects directly related to European distressed investments.
Developing strong partnerships with external counterparties.
Acting as a key operational representative with the LMA, being actively involved with industry changes and trends to ensure the business is represented appropriately.
Bachelor's degree in finance or related field.
Extensive European PE/PD operations experience.
European Credit experience preferred
Understanding of Lux-based structures and the unique booking requirements associated with them.
Strong relationships with European counterparties (preferred).
Understanding and involvement with the LMA (preferred).
Strong financial, analytical, organizational and quantitative skills, and an ability to coordinate complex activities, prioritize requests and meet deadlines with a quality, accurate work product.
Highly motivated, able to work independently with strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
High level of accuracy, attention to detail and ability to proof one's own work.
