The Role Responsibilities
Understand technical aspects of systems relevant to CDD, Client Risk Assessments, Name and Transaction Screening, AML Monitoring, and Case Management.
Align/support with the alignment of relevant systems and controls to industry best practice and close out any compliance gaps.
Apply risk and data analytic tools/techniques to enhance transaction monitoring.
Partner with Technology team on data requirements and associated technology based issues.
Provide feedback to internal teams and system owners to increase efficiency.
Provide regular updates to senior management for the projects and achievement.
Apply Group and FCC policies and processes (AML surveillance, client screening, risk assessment) to manage risks.
Risk Management & Governance
Develop, maintain, and run strategies to determine thresholds for detection scenarios to offer effective monitoring.
Tune and test Detection Scenario (DS) models to improve the quality of alerts generated.
Optimize transaction monitoring system by identifying patterns using data mining techniques and advanced algorithms on customer data, transaction data and sanctions datasets.
Maintain the design and metrics of dashboards that permit FCC to dynamically monitor operational metrics.

Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate, and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
Our Ideal Candidate
Bachelors (Advanced preferred) degree in statistics/mathematics, or computer science with excellent quantitative and methodological skills.
At least 3 years analytical experience in identifying trends and proposing new or revised analytical approaches to discover illicit activity within data sets. Prior experience in Detection Scenario optimization preferred.
Strong skills in SAS/SQL and sound knowledge of programming concepts.
Knowledge in Python, R, KNIME, MapReduce, Data Mining is an advantage.
Data Visualisation, Modelling and algorithmic coding experience is preferred.
AML, Fraud, Financial and Behaviour modelling experience is also preferred.
Excellent collaborative and team building skills and a desire to work as a part of a high functioning team of financial intelligence specialists.
Strong oral and written communications and presentation skills.
Strong curiosity and self-motivated.
