The RBC Portfolio Management & Credit Strategy team is hiring for a Senior Manager to lead the Personal Banking Analytics team combining data mining and modeling with talent development responsibilities. You will use in-depth portfolio analytics to develop strategies to grow RBC's core banking portfolio and to partner with business team stakeholders to generate insights. You will also be accountable for the development of an existing talented analyst team within the group.
What will you do?
Engage senior management and business partners to identify, refine and implement data driven strategies within the core banking space
Support the implementation and ongoing integrity of strategies within appropriate systems (e.g. TRIAD); Support the implementation and execution of campaigns (e.g. acquisition campaigns) where required
Build financial models to simulate financial outcomes of strategy decisions and report on strategy effectiveness and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) outcomes relative to expectations
Support the attraction, development and establishment of a highly talented analyst team
Design and implement management systems to foster and develop a best-in-class analyst team
What do you need to succeed?
3+ years of progressive analytics experience, preferably performing advanced risk and/or product analytics
Excellent at working with and combining very large datasets (entire RBC client and product base)
Expert problem solving skills including understanding of P&L drivers and financial modelling
Proficient in SQL, Excel, SAS, Word, and PowerPoint
Ability to develop effective and collaborative relationships (e.g. with stakeholders, technology teams, and remote teams)
Ability to design and deliver compelling presentations to senior management and other stakeholders
Proven experience in delivering high quality and accurate work with the ability to multitask and shift priorities
University degree in a quantitative field of study (e.g. statistics, engineering, economics, finance, computer science) - to demonstrate ability for critical thinking, data analytics and financial modeling
Experience with modern analytical tools and technology stacks; Python, GitHub, AWS, HDFS, etc.
Equally effective and conversant in business and technical environments
3+ years of direct role-related experience
