Investment Banking Division (IBD) works on some of the most complex financial challenges and transactions in the market today. Whether advising on a merger, providing financial solutions for an acquisition, or structuring an initial public offering, we handle projects that help clients at major milestones. We work with corporations, pension funds, financial sponsors, and governments and are team of strong analytical thinkers, who have a passion for producing out-of-the-box ideas. The Financing Group structures and executes a variety of transactions, including equity offerings, debt issuances, and derivative transactions.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS HOW YOU WILL FULFIL YOUR POTENTIAL Investment Banking Associates at Goldman Sachs gain exposure to the firm's businesses and expanded knowledge of the investment banking industry, as they develop key analytical, communications, marketing and sales skills. They create and analyse financial models, performing scenario analyses and tests to examine the effects of client alternatives. In addition, Associates organise and prepare presentations, which explain industry trends, discuss client options, and recommend strategies to meet client goals. Associates may also participate in and conduct due diligence sessions, a necessary component of financial transactions. From maintaining client communication to helping Goldman Sachs structure client transactions, our Associates are a vital part of Goldman Sachs' banking teams.
- Work collaboratively with a transaction team responsible for the origination and execution of infrastructure financings. - Work closely with applicable industry bankers to identify and originate infrastructure financing and advisory situations that meet certain target market and capital returns criteria. - Lead Analysts in developing and running complex financial models that underpin specific financing situations in the infrastructure space. - Perform a robust credit analysis with respect to each project situation, and lead the process of seeking and obtaining internal credit approval consistent with credit standards and capital return requirements; significant involvement in transaction and environmental due diligence. - As applicable, develop and present presentations on a particular project to one or more rating agencies for purposes of procuring a credit rating. - Together with the applicable syndicate desk, interface with banks in the project finance market, as well as certain institutional investors, for purposes of syndicating/selling project risk. SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Strong academic record with Bachelor's level, equivalent or above required - Current experience as an Investment Banking Associate (or related financial position) required - Substantial experience in the European Infrastructure sector required - Experience with structuring, credit and financing, execution, forecasting and syndication processes required - Experience with pricing, building financial models including DCF and LBO, managing positions, reporting, negotiation and documentation required - Familiarity with portfolio acquisition/management, risk analysis/management, sensitivity analysis, due diligence and audit processes required - Project management experience with demonstrable involvement with continuous improvement initiatives required - Experience of delivering comprehensive presentations with internal and external stakeholders required - Strong analytical, credit and communication skills - Drive, enthusiasm, creativity and excellent interpersonal skills - Strong quantitative and technical abilities - Personal integrity, initiative and leadership qualities - Strong multi-tasking and time management skills - Must be a collaborative team-player
