Front to back office oversight of operational risk including IT risk, information security, data management, fiduciary risk, new products, etc. Maintenance of the operational risk management framework tailored to an asset manager. Monitor operational risk events and conduct lessons learned. Perform continuous monitoring of key risk indicators, risk assessment results, and identify emerging risks within the organization. The DWS business consists of investment management of mutual funds, ETFs, and Alternative investments in real estate, infrastructure, etc.

What You'll Do:
Incident management - conduct root cause analysis of operational losses and provide business management with recommendations on internal control improvements; monitor adverse trends in operational losses and suggest loss reduction tactics; provide loss input into the economic capital model
Key risk indicators - collect, report, and monitor KRIs for their continued relevance and inform management of emerging risks that require corrective actions
Risk assessments - conduct quarterly risk assessments and idiosyncratic scenario design in support of CCAR and proactively identify changes in control/risk ratings that may warrant senior management's attention
Process reviews - depending on the business and regulatory environment, identify key risk areas for additional monitoring and conduct targeted reviews of business processes/systems, including sample transaction testing; assess adequacy of controls and management awareness in monitoring operational risks; draft findings in a formal report to senior management and raise awareness of issues identified
New product approval - conduct new product due diligence to ensure key operational risks have been properly considered and mitigated with formal processes, policies/procedures, training, personnel, systems, and vendor due diligence
Projects - undertake and actively participate in local/global/regulatory operational risk or business projects; provide appropriate subject matter expert opinion on the risk implications of significant changes to the organization
Skills You'll Need:
Relevant experience of internal control, compliance, or risk management preferred
Working knowledge of investment products such as 40 Act Funds/ETFs, alternative investments, institutional mandates, and retail investment platform along with associated back office and trading processes
Working knowledge of key SEC, FINRA, and Fed regulations
Strong analytical skills; ability to draw logical conclusions and offer practical recommendations
Excellent interpersonal skills and executive presence; ability to lead discussions and deliver difficult messages to management
