See yourself in our team The Chief Controls Office is responsible for developing the non-financial risk strategy and supporting Colonial First State (CFS) to proactively reduce risk exposure in the business in the context of our risk appetite.
The Risk & Control Governance, Planning & Reporting team is responsible for ensuring adequate oversight of Line 1 risk activities, framework activities, strategy execution and supporting the efforts to drive risk culture and maturity across CFS.
Do work that matters Leading a team of Governance, Planning and Reporting professionals, you will establish and deliver effective risk management governance and define the required reporting to operationalise planned risk measures from the other Controls Office functions. You will be responsible for:
Motivating and inspiring a proud and engaged team, and supporting their capability development;
Provision and co-ordination of company secretariat for the CFS Non-Financial Risk Committee (NFRC) and other agreed forums;
Preparation and review of reports and inputs for the Business Unit, Group, Board, Board Risk Committee, Operational Risk Management and Compliance Committees, Management Committees and Leadership Teams Meetings, as required and in line with reporting timelines;
Establishing and enhancing reporting on operational and compliance risk, control profiles, issues, incidents and emerging risks and other risk matters as required;
Providing subject matter expertise input into report content for complex Operational Risk requirements;
Making strategic recommendations from data driven insights;
Leveraging productive and proactive working relationships with Line 2 on areas of non - compliance with policy, procedures and frameworks;
Building cohesive and productive working relationship with embedded Line 1 risk teams;
Driving risk capability uplift across CFS via the development and execution of a risk training and education program.
We're interested in hearing from people who possess:
Extensive experience within Operational Risk Management, specifically in Financial Services;
Proven ability to measure risk culture maturity and undertake conduct assessments;
Superannuation and Investments business commercial aptitude and knowledge;
Strong reasoning ability, negotiation and influencing skills across a range of stakeholder groups;
Demonstrated people leadership skills, including expectation setting, coaching, and performance management;
Relevant tertiary qualifications in finance, accounting, economics, science, technology, engineering, mathematics, or related subjects.
