Leading Boston-based financial services company seeks a Senior Associate within its Investor Services Group, Private Funds. This Group's primary responsibilities pertain to servicing high net worth individuals investing in private funds.
The primary role of a Senior Associate is to participate in the operations of the Investor Services Group. This will entail facilitating transactions (processing redemptions in-kind, assisting with closings, etc.), assisting with tasks pertaining to an investor portal and other operational tasks. The Senior Associate will also perform as an Investor Services Representative and be responsible for answering and responding to inquiries from shareholders, their financial advisors and internal colleagues. Inquiries may involve questions regarding transactions, account balances, or other matters. In performing this function, the Senior Associate will be responsible for researching the inquiries, assisting with any related correspondence and ensuring proper and timely resolution. In addition to being involved in the day-to-day operations of the Group, the Senior Associate will also participate in process improvement initiatives as needed.
Assist with the daily operations of the Group including:
Processing various investor requests such as
Redemption in-kind transactions, daily
Systematic withdrawal transactions, periodic
Closings, transfers, other transactions
Assist with the investor portal including:
Performing tasks pertaining to document management (uploading, reviewing, etc.)
Performing tasks pertaining to access management (inputting, reviewing, etc.)
Assisting with requests for access
Responding to inquiries
Acting as a liaison with portal provider including making inquiries, researching issues, developing and evaluating solutions to operational items
Perform as an Investor Services Representative including:
Respond to inbound inquiries from shareholders, brokers, other interested parties on a variety of matters including:
Communicate with shareholders and authorized interested parties to process inquiries
Relay instructions and general process guidelines to assist with facilitating transactions
Complete any post call processing necessary (internal and external)
Provide best-in-class service to shareholders, financial advisors and other interested parties
Maintain and strengthen relationships with internal colleagues and external service providers
Productively interact with various departments throughout the company to ensure smooth process and information flow
Assist in creating, preparing and maintaining departmental reports and reconciliations
Assist with on-boarding initiatives, as needed
Assist with supporting Associates including training, reviewing work and supervisory responsibilities, as needed
Assist in other tasks, project initiatives and special projects, as needed
Bachelor's degree in business or accounting required
FINRA Series 6 & 63 licenses within 8 months of start date
2-4 years industry experience preferred
Prior experience in an operations role a plus
Strong oral and written communication skills
Eagerness to understand a complicated product and process
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, while handling multiple tasks and responsibilities simultaneously
Willingness to assist others with various duties that go beyond typical daily responsibilities
Availability to working non-regular business hours periodically throughout the year required
Experience with Excel (including building and/or utilizing macros) is a plus
