The Office of the Chief Data Officer (OCDO) is TD Bank's leading authority on the governance and management of data and is part of TD's Operational Risk Management organization. We have the tools, processes, and mandate to leverage TD's data to become the bank of the future and we\u2019re looking for transformative leaders to help us make that happen.
Enterprise Data Governance (EDG) is a fundamental function of the OCDO which partners closely with lines of business through the enterprise-wide Data Governance structure to drive data strategy. Effective data governance supports critical business and strategic decision making, legendary customer experiences and reduced operational and reputational risk.
The Manager, Enterprise Data Governance role will support the OCDO data governance and data management programs, with a focus on community engagement and communications. The role's accountabilities include (but are not limited to):
Develop a strategy for line of business communications and community engagement to drive better adoption of Data Governance and Data Management programs across the enterprise
Develop tools, templates and repositories that enable effective communication to lines of businesses, control partners and senior management
Develop targeted approaches to engage stakeholders and increase awareness of OCDO within the enterprise
Create clear, simplified messages/content to communicate with the Data Steward community and other stakeholders; including visuals, written communications, learning experiences, etc.
Ensure consistency of messaging across OCDO programs, helping to drive holistic communications
Create compelling communication materials including executive decks, presentations, key messages, announcements, and internal social media content
Develop strong relationships and work collaboratively with OCDO partners, business segments, and other stakeholders to promote adoption of data governance and data management programs throughout the enterprise
Facilitate the Enterprise Lead Data Council and other data governance and information sharing forums
Ownership of the Monthly Data Steward newsletter, related processes and additional communication platforms as needed
Responsible for the Data Steward Portal including site design, functionality and working with OCDO program teams to manage content
Support the development, refinement and implementation of the data governance framework
Ability to succinctly articulate insights and information, both written and verbally, and communicate across all levels of management
Experience in developing communication strategies to involve multiple stakeholders and audiences at different levels
Strong facilitation and presentation skills engaging audiences through a variety of formats, including meetings, workshops and online sessions
Strong relationship management skills and the ability to coach and influence without direct authority Experience with working in both a technical and business context; able to translate technical concepts into easy to understand business language
Strong organizational and change leadership skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple deadlines and priorities
A strong team player with the ability to work independently and as part of a larger team with a proven track record of delivering results by demonstrating the ability to take independent action
Attention to detail with the aptitude to identify areas of improvement and assess impacts
Proficient in Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint
Previous experience in Process Improvement is an asset
Event Planning experience is an asset
An understanding of current data management/governance trends is an asset
Knowledge of best practices in training/adult learning is an asset
Specific Educational Requirements / Accreditations:
College / University and /or equivalent work experience in the banking or management consulting industry
